Dying With Dignity

Learn to Facilitate the Dying Process with clarity, steadiness and deep presence

A grounded, compassionate training for practitioners, caregivers, and highly sensitive people who want to support others in the dying process.

There are moments in life when knowledge alone is not enough.

When someone is dying, what matters most is your ability to remain present, grounded, and open-hearted — without becoming overwhelmed, emotionally flooded, or disconnected from yourself.

This master class training offers practical tools and embodied guidance for supporting the dying process with greater ease, dignity, and compassion — while also caring for your own nervous system along the way.

Begin Exploring a More Grounded Way to Support the Dying Process

Prerequisite: Read or listen to Full Body Presence and Reclaiming your Body by Suzanne Scurlock

WHEN SUPPORTING THE DYING FEELS OVERWHELMING

Many practitioners, caregivers, and highly sensitive people want to show up fully for others during grief, illness, and death.

But internally, the experience can feel very challenging and fraught.

You may find yourself:

hand holding hands
  • Absorbing emotional intensity long after interactions end

  • Feeling pressure to say the “right” thing

  • Becoming exhausted from over-giving

  • Carrying unprocessed grief in your own body

  • Trying to stay composed while quietly shutting down inside

  • Feeling uncertain about how to support someone without taking their pain on as your own

And when death enters the room, many people discover their own fears, unfinished grief, beliefs, or anxieties begin to surface.

This training gently brings those experiences into awareness — not to overwhelm you, but to help you meet them with more steadiness and compassion.

As Suzanne teaches throughout the immersion, therapeutic presence is not about fixing, rescuing, or performing. It is about learning how to remain deeply connected to yourself while sitting beside another human being in one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.

A central teaching in the training asks a simple but profound question:

“When we approach the threshold of being with someone who is dying, what are we bringing to that threshold?”

That question changes everything.

Because true support begins with awareness of your own internal state.

And from there, something quietly powerful and more sustainable becomes possible.

Discover What Changes When You No Longer Have to Carry It All

WHAT BECOMES POSSIBLE WHEN YOU STAY GROUNDED THROUGH GRIEF AND DYING

As you deepen your capacity for grounded presence, the dying process no longer has to feel so frightening, emotionally chaotic, or isolating.

Instead, many people begin to experience:

  • Greater calm and steadiness in emotionally charged situations

  • The ability to remain compassionate without becoming depleted

  • More trust in their body’s wisdom and internal signals

  • Increased clarity about what support is truly needed

  • A softer, more human way of being with grief and loss

  • Stronger boundaries without closing your heart

  • More confidence companioning others through illness, transition, and death

  • A deeper relationship with your own life, priorities, and purpose

hands in shape of heart

This work is not about becoming detached.

It is about becoming more fully present.

Throughout the training, Suzanne and Lori repeatedly return to the importance of holding a loving presence while remaining grounded and full within yourself.

Participants are guided to work from the “wisdom areas” of the body — the heart, gut, bones, pelvis, feet, and integrated brain — learning how each area offers different forms of support, clarity, steadiness, compassion, and instinctual knowing during times of transition.

The result is not simply more information. It is a more easeful and potent quality of presence.

This class was so much more than I expected. I thought it was going to be simply dialoguing around death and dying. I wasn't expecting the actual energy work. It's helped me to process the passing of a loved one more than 25 years ago. I was feeling extreme rage coming into this class because I've been through a lot of trauma since my teens and the pelvic core class jumpstarted a further healing process, followed by more healing in Healing from the Core. During the Dying with Dignity class, the rage started to subside in a way that I'm noticing I'm able to process various moments in my life in a way that I wasn't able to before. It seems that for me, Dying with Dignity was helpful in not only processing actual physical deaths of loved ones but deaths of other kinds that I have experienced in my life; relationships, or betrayals I experienced, etc.

I felt that it was an excellent course. I didn't realize how much resistance I had to taking the course till I started it on day 1. I hadn't registered last November and gave financial reasons, then went on to take the rest of the immersion courses for my certification. It wasn't about the money, it was about the resistance to looking a little deeper into the passing of my parents, my brother and our daughter born premature. I was able to be with another layer of unresolved (repressed) grief, anger and resentment. I am truly grateful.

If you really want to learn how to truly ground and fill yourself to be more present for your clients/loved ones in a healing/healthy way please consider taking this curriculum (distance/healing from the core). My skills with visceral manipulation and craniosacral therapy became so much more detailed and accurate. Understanding how to be present during the dying, grief and/or loss process is so powerful and makes our presence on this earth so much more meaningful. Thank you Suzanne and Lori

Dying with dignity helped me explore my own experiences of the death of loved ones and to realise that whatever happens is meant to be, each experience is unique. It has given me valuable protocols, as a template, for supporting the dying and those caring for them. I have a restored sense of how sacred it is to midwife the dying.

A Different Way to Approach the Dying Process

Death is one of the few experiences every human being will eventually encounter.

Yet many people have never been taught how to stay present with it — in themselves or with others.

This training offers a compassionate path.

A path that honors:

  • The nervous system

  • The wisdom of the body

  • The importance of grounded presence

  • The reality of grief

  • The need for healthy boundaries

  • The possibility of greater peace and dignity during this potent transition

energy fields

As the training teaches, the essence of love and joy still matters deeply during the dying process. People hunger for that presence at the end of life.

And learning how to offer that presence — without abandoning yourself in the process — can transform not only how you support others, but how you live your own life.
